One of the reasons she chose to join Minnesota Røkkr is because of its shared commitment to create a more inclusive gaming industry. Smixie is bullish on where gaming is headed in terms of inclusivity and diversity, and acknowledges there is work to be done. “I have such an amazing and supportive community so focusing on that aspect is the goal,” says Smixie. As she joins Røkkr, her immediate goals are to place T3 in a major Warzone tournament and in the long term, she is committed to growing her footprint. Smixie has always been passionate about gaming, especially Call of Duty, but it wasn’t until Warzone was released and she started to dominate the game that she considered turning her passion into a career. She started to break through in 2020 when her team won Røkkr and eFuse’s Women of the eRena Warzone tournament presented by Crocs in October 2020 and the Florida Mutineers and eFuse CoEd Cup in February alongside Newbz. Smixie will also compete as a squad leader in the Twitch Rivals and Call of Duty World Series of Warzone next week, which offers a total prize pool of $300,000. Smixie is a growing talent in the competitive Warzone scene and has competed in recent high profile tournaments, including New York Subliners $100,000 WarzoneMania earlier this month. Minnesota Røkkr has signed Call of Duty: Warzone streamer Smixie to its roster of content creators.
